Author Cherie Dumont commissioned us to design the cover and text pages for her debut history book The Castle on Gibbet Hill. Well received, it was awarded ‘Best Book in US History’ (ABE Pinnacle Books Achievement Award 2023) and received a ‘New England Book Festival Honorable Mention’ (2023).

On the verso pages, the chapter openers show a featured image on a grey tint. On the recto, we have used elegant typography.

Rather than having integrated pictures and text, on this occasion we decided to separate the text pages from the picture sections. A typical picture spread might include archive photography, modern photography by the author, engravings and old memorabilia.
